Kilmartin Museum shortlisted finalist for The Scottish Design Awards 2024

We are delighted to announce we have a second project shortlisted as a finalist in the 2024 Scottish Design Awards - Kilmartin Museum in the Public Buildings category!

Our recently completed Kilmartin Museum project is situated in a rural and richly historic landscape. The new extension accommodates temporary and permanent exhibitions that tell the story of local prehistoric life in the Kilmartin Glen.

Gala Fairydean shortlisted finalist Scottish Design Awards 2024

We are delighted that The Gala Fairydean Rovers Spectator Stand has been selected as a finalist in the 2024 Scottish Design Awards - Regeneration category!

The Gala Fairydean Rovers Spectators Stand in the small Scottish Borders town of Galashiels is one of the most exciting pieces of modern architecture in the UK. It opened in 1964 during a period of architectural optimism in Europe in general, at a time when football clubs occasionally dared to build exciting projects. The fact that Gala Fairydean and Gala Rovers are a lower league club made the commissioning of such a daring design even more incredible. The stand was designed by Peter Womersley (1923-93), one of the most renowned and talented post-war architects working in Scotland.

Congratulations to everyone involved on this project.

Reiach and Hall Architects Celebrates Triple Shortlisting for RIAS Awards

Reiach and Hall Architects is pleased to announce that three of our projects have been shortlisted for the 2024 RIAS (Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland) Awards. This recognition highlights our dedication to innovative design and excellence in architecture.

Tamsie Thomson, chief executive of RIAS, commented that the shortlist is “diverse and intriguing” and represents “one of the strongest for many years.”

Our shortlisted projects include the renovation of Gala Fairydean Rovers Spectators' Stand, the extension and refurbishment of the Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh, and the creation of the University of Aberdeen's New Science Teaching Hub. Each project reflects our commitment to blending innovation with a deep understanding of context and purpose.

Being shortlisted for three RIAS Awards is an honour for our team at Reiach and Hall Architects. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to Scotland's architectural landscape and are grateful for the recognition alongside esteemed peers.

We extend our thanks to the RIAS and the judging panel, which includes jury chair Nick Hayhurst (director, Hayhurst and Co), Simon Branson (partner architect, Honey Architecture), Catriona Hill (partner, Oberlanders Architects), and Daisy Narayanan MBE (head of placemaking and mobility, City of Edinburgh Council), for acknowledging our efforts. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 4th.
