Letters from Assynt
Excited to explore the latest edition of “Letters from Assynt” by anOrdain - featuring our sketch designs for their new watchmaking studio in Glasgow!
‘Letters from Assynt’ delves into the core principles that define anOrdain: Scotland, craft, design, heritage, and horology.
Reiach and Hall Architects have been working with anOrdain since 2020. Together, we’re crafting designs for a state-or-the-art watchmaking factory in Glasgow - a space where design and manufacturing seamlessly come together under one roof.
Our vision is to create a building that serves as a canvas for the artistry involved - simple, direct, and elegantly refined.
Orkneys Creative Catalyst
Reiach and Hall Architects and STUDIO NIRO are absolutely delighted to have been selected to work with the Pier Arts Centre on Orkneys Creative Catalyst. We would like to thank the Pier Arts Centre and the RIAS for the positive and rigorous manner in which the competition was run.
We would also like to acknowledge our fellow competitors. The competition proved to be challenging and is a measure of the value and ambition that we all recognised in the Orkney Creative Catalyst. We look forward to discovering and developing ideas on Orkney, a place steeped in art and literature, light and open space, a place that is very close to our hearts.

Preview Opening of Kilmartin Museum
We are excited to be part of the preview day yesterday ahead of the upcoming reopening of Kilmartin Museum this weekend. Reiach and Hall Architects have successfully completed a major extension, which seamlessly connects two existing buildings to create an improved facility. This redevelopment now offers:
A significantly larger exhibition space; A versatile creative area for cultural activities and temporary exhibitions; An accessible research and learning facility; A dedicated education space.
The museum is now home to artifacts dating back 5000 years and will open its doors to the public on the 3rd of September.
Planning Application for Granton Harbour Plot 26
Reiach and Hall, In Collaboration with Link Group, have submitted a planning application for Granton Harbour, Plot 26.
The proposed development will consist of 152 homes, offering a range of 1,2 and 3 -bedroom family dwellings, all designed to meet the highest standards of comfort, functionality and sustainability. Our architectural approach emphasises the importance of creating welcoming homes where residents can enjoy spacious, well-designed areas filled with natural light, ventilation and privacy. We are excited about this project and look forward to creating a vibrant and sustainable community in Granton Harbour.
Part 3 Success
Reiach and Hall Architects are pleased to announce that we have a new architect - Charlene Gilmour has passed her RIBA Part 3 qualification. Congratulations Charlene!
Building Stories
Our very own Mark Dawson will be sharing our Stirling Prize shortlisted Forth Valley College at the RIBA’s next Building Stories lunchtime talk.
Replacing a 1960’s building that had reached the end of its useful life on the adjacent site, the new campus buildings harp back to the architecture of and era with long, low-slung elevations, intentionally nodding to both the setting and the evolution of Reiach and Hall as a practice. The project won a 2022 RIAS award and a RIBA Award.
Hosted by former Head of RIBA Awards Tony Chapman, we’ll be joined by Mark Dawson (Reiach and Hall Architects), Gordon Berry (College Estates Development Manager, Forth Valley College) and Kate McLaren (Student, Painting and Decorating) for a panel discussion, followed by an interactive Q&A.
7th March 2023, 1-2pm.
