RIBA National Award for Forth Valley College, Falkirk Campus
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has announced the 29 winners of the 2022 RIBA National Awards for architecture and we are delighted that our Forth Valley College Falkirk Campus has been included in this year's winners. The RIBA National Awards, which have been presented since 1966, recognise the UK’s best new buildings - providing an insight into the UK’s latest design and economic trends but they also showcase the extraordinary breadth and brilliance of UK architecture today.
RIBA President, Simon Allford, said: “At a time when we need to bring people together and plan for a sustainable future, this year’s RIBA National Award-winning buildings offer much hope. This is a powerful collection of buildings that show, despite the economic, political and social turmoil of the last few years, how great architecture can emerge even in challenging conditions. As we start to settle from the pandemic, I am particularly encouraged by the number and quality of new buildings designed to foster community … these projects demonstrate the power of good architecture to lift spirits and enhance lives.”
Reiach and Hall Architects are delighted by the announcement and would like congratulate our client and entire team for their achievements.

Inverness Shortlisted for RIAS Award
The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) has announced the 14 buildings in contention for its annual honours and we are delighted that our Inverness Justice Centre for the Scottish Courts has been selected as a Finalist.
The judges have recognised that: "Most of this year’s shortlisted buildings were delivered during the Covid-19 pandemic and are a testament to the resilience of their architects, clients and construction teams in the face of extraordinary social and economic uncertainty… Delivering outstanding architecture which pushes briefs, boundaries and the systems we work within is not easy – and I am full of admiration for the teams who delivered this fantastic shortlist in the face of such extraordinary challenges."
The Inverness Justice Centre is a new building for Scottish Courts and Tribunals comprising six courts with ancillary accommodation. Scottish Courts are the major user with a number of justice partners also accessing the facility. These include Citizens Advice Scotland, Women’s Aid, the Criminal Justice Team, Victim Support and the local authority social services teams. The scheme communicates an appropriate level of gravitas, and reflects the spirit of openness and transparency required by the various user agencies.
